Empty Tomb Rolls

Today, I want to share an activity you can do with your children this weekend to visually illustrate the resurrection of Christ.  We’ve been doing this for years. It’s super simple. Even though my children are grown up, they still require me to make these during Easter weekend.

It’s a cooking activity called empty tomb rolls.  Take a package of biscuits (tube), melt a stick of butter and mix some cinnamon with sugar and finally get a package of marshmallows.  Roll each biscuit out, place a marshmallow in each biscuit. that has been rolled in butter and cinnamon sugar.  Seal the biscuit around the marshmallow .  Roll the sealed biscuit in the butter and sugar mixture.  Place each biscuit sealed side down in a muffin cup.  Bake 8 -10 minutes at temperature on side of biscuit tube.

The biscuit represents the tomb.  The marshmallow represents a full tomb and after baked the tomb is empty.  It is a great illustration and the end product tastes like a cinnamon roll.  Children love the whole process of making Empty Tomb Rolls from start to finish.

 Have fun making these!
