Make Summer Goals NOW!

As you think of what you would like to accomplish this summer with your children, let me share a template I have used in the past.  I looked at a few area that I wanted to tackle during the summer especially for my son who had learning differences.
1.  Spiritually (Here are some specific examples)
He will go to summer Bible Camp.
He will listen to the Bible on CD or through an app each night before bed
He will go to vacation Bible school.
He will go with our family to a Christian family camp.
He will do a summer mission project with our family.
He will pack meals to send overseas through a local ministry.
2.  Academically
He will spend 3 mornings a week working with mom on multiplication facts.
He will read one book per week by reading every morning after working with mom.
He will do one week of science camp.
We will do family field trip every Thur. afternoon.
We will go to the library as a family each Friday afternoon.
3.  Social/Emotional
He will have a playdate every Mon. afternoon on weeks he is not in a camp or on vacation.
He will attend a social skills group every week he is not in a camp or on vacation.
4.   Physically
Spend vacations and camps that keep him outside.
Take swimming lessons for 2 weeks.
Jump on the trampoline for 15 minutes every morning
Go camping once during the summer
     Go on an active vacation.
This list is to help you start thinking about your summer goals so you have an idea of things that need scheduled in advance.  It’s so much easier to reach these goals when we have them written down.
