Over the last few weeks, we've looked at behavioral therapies and learning approaches for children diagnosed on the autism spectrum or related disabilities. For the next few weeks, the focus will be on traditional areas of therapy for children with disabilities. There seems to be the BiG THREE.
- Speech and Language Therapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Physical Therapy
Of course there are other types of therapies used with children of disabilities. Some of the common ones are music therapy, horse therapy and art therapy. There are others but I have little exposure to those so I won't comment on them at this time.
Over the next few weeks we will look at the BIG THREE. We'll see what is included in each and why they can be beneficial to those faced with a disability. Please join me next Tuesday as we begin the series with speech and language therapy.
See you then!
