Behavior Strategies 101

I help families get a handle on their children's challenging behavior. Behavior intervention can be very involved and complicated. You won't find that here. No behavior "speak." I promise. Very simply, challenging behavior reflects that the child does 't feel something is right in his world. More often than not, something is causing him anxiety. That is why a parent, teacher or provider must be an anxiety detective. The child must have the environment "set right" or the child will take things into his own hands. He will lower his anxiety but not in ways that the adult wants.

During this series, we will look at ways to be an anxiety detective. Some basic behavior intervention strategies will be explained and examples given. We will also look at ways to be proactive before there is challenging behavior. Please join me as we look at easy ways to have a lot less conflict and enable your child to better predict what is causing him anxiety. With this in place, everyone will be a lot happier at your house!
