For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10
As we enter summer, many people look forward to a more laid back schedule. But if you have children living in your house, summer can be intense. Over the next few Wednesday's, I would like to share some of the blessings that come from this often overwhelming and intense life.
You are Needed! You have been given a ministry and a great opportunity! God has blessed you with children! I am sure many of you prayed for children and God answered. His answer may not always meet your expectations. God never promised to meet your perfect image of what your family should look like. He is God and you and I are not! He gives us the family we need, but it's not about a family in our image. It is about each of us reflecting His image.
These children need you. How?
They need your prayers.
They need your love.
They need the compassion of a mother's heart.
They need consistent discipline and boundaries.
They need to be taught about God, relationships, character and practical life skills.
They need your care.
They need you to model life and godliness to them.
They need a listening ear. They need your understanding.
They need grace and lots of it.
Children will need far more than this from you, mom, but this will keep you busy for a while! It is a blessing to be needed. Just talk to someone who doesn't feel needed, it is a very lonely and unfulfilling existence. being so needed is exhausting but it is also a blessing. It's easy to focus on the exhausting part and miss the blessing.
