Each time a new intervention is begun, there is a great amount of fear and trembling. There is hope that this will be the magic ticket. There are some that bring great success for SOME children, but not all.
We’ve seen some great success with some interventions but not many. We’ve seen more success from the slugging it out one day at a time with some parenting, social skill and academic interventions. Yes, our son has made some great progress but he still has autism. Am I thankful, yes! Do we still have work to do? Yes!
Interventions will help but more than likely there will not be a total healing from whatever difficulty your child has. It is often 3 steps forward and 2 steps back. That is progress. Slow and steady wins the race!
