The book of proverbs has provided Wednesday devotions with lots of ideas to ponder about speaking the way that pleases God.
Let’s recap a few things:
- Speak with kindness and gentleness
- Speak ideas and thoughts that have have been put through a filter. Not all things that pop into one’s mind, need to be said.
- Words follow personal wisdom. Only a wise person, speaks words that reflect your understanding of God’s truth.
- Words, have power. Use that power wisely.
- Once a word is spoken, it cannot be taken back.
The words spoken show forth our maturity. It takes restraint avoid making foolish statements. It takes thought to see an opportunity to use words to bless others.
Let’s seek to develop our relationship with Christ in a way that it affects the words spoken.
