1. Have coffee or lunch with a girlfriend or two before summer begins. It will be several weeks before you can have this type of adult interaction.
2. Try to get some quiet time to do something that is refreshing for you. It may be going shopping for flowers, clothes or shoes! It may mean a manicure or a new haircut. I may be reading a book by yourself for an hour. Whatever provides relaxation....try to find a little me time. It is vital before the demands of summer begin.
3. Make a plan to get some time away from the kids each week. It may be after they go to bed but do something that fills your tank.
4. Figure out some date nights on a regular basis for the summer.
I guarantee these things will help the summer run more smoothly. A mom who gets what she needs to replenish will be better equipped to give her children what they need.
