Summer Calendar

Summer Calendar
If you have your activities for summer figured out, it’s time to start the summer calendar.
  1.  Will it me a paper calendar that you keep on your desk or kitchen counter?  If it is make sure it is LARGE!  You will need all the room you can get once things start coming.  There will be playdates and activities you didn’t plan on and you need plenty of room on a calendar.
  2. Will it be a digital calendar?  That is what I have moved to in the last couple of years.  I use google calendar and I have it on my computer, IPAD and phone.  I color code my activities.  At this stage of my life I have mostly my appointments with children I work.  Each child has a different color of print and it’s easy for me to read.  I can put it in a daily, weekly or monthly format.  I use all of those formats at different times.  It is always with me.
Whether you use a physical or digital calendar, I would encourage you to color code different activities so you can notice what is coming up just by glancing at a calendar.  Some mom’s find it is easier to have a calendar for each member of the family and others prefer a master family calendar.  You may need to try some different ways to find the one that works best.  It doesn’t matter how you decide to do it.  It’s important that you have the schedule in an easy to read and accessible format so it helps you as you move into this very busy season with your children.
