When one of our daughter's was a little girl, she coined the phrase "Thanks For Giving" one Thanksgiving. As you can imagine, it stuck! It is a day set aside to Thank God for Giving. I have a hymn that makes me think of Thanksgiving and particularly Giving thanks to God for all His provisions. I have sung "We Gather Together" in church many times around Thanksgiving.
Take some time as you travel and prepare for your family's Thanksgiving Dinner to think about the words of this hymn. It may take the focus off the immediate tasks at hand to see the great provisions of our God.
