Take a Break Before Summer!

Life is so busy in May. Music programs. Soccer, baseball, and softball practice and games. Graduations from preschool through high school. Dance and piano recitals. There are the end of the year picnics and track and field day. Life is packed with activities in the month of May. These are often celebrations of a year of hard work. They are great reminders of the change of a season.

The season of summer break is very different from the rest of the year. Before this new season of summer vacation hits, take a little time away from regular life to transition. It may be a last trip to the outlet mall by yourself. It could be going to Mc Donald's with just your preschooler. Maybe it's a massage or a pedicure. It may be a hike or a bike ride by yourself. There maybe something that you've wanted to do for quite a while but haven't gotten around to it. This is the time you've been waiting. Do it in the next couple of weeks. Remember, once summer vacation begins, you will have a hard time going to the bathroom by yourself!!

This outing may take a little work to orchestrate but the effort will be well worth it. It may involve your husband, mother, friend or a paid babysitter but do it! Every mom needs a little break especially before or after a time of intense activity. Intense activity is the story of every mom's life. Take a little break before school ends. You will be glad you did!
