A Target Worth Hitting

http://www.freedigitalphotos.net/images/Fruit_g104-Dart_Hit_To_Target_p54296.html

I have a phrase, "Without a target, you might just hit it." Of course that makes no literal sense but I think you get the idea. We have to have some goal or target we are trying to achieve to measure our effectiveness. A plan can't be achieved without first having the plan. Ok, it's after Easter and before Memorial Day. It's probably about time to think about what summer is going to look like around your house. It's a little late to start thinking about this at your children's track and field day on the last week of school!

This may be a little radical but I'm going to suggest it anyway. Figure out a way to take a planning day. It will make your life so much easier. There is a lot to do with summer. Here are a few things that you could do on a summer planning day.

  1. How am I going to clean house?
  2. What about grocery shopping, summer shopping lists and meal plans?
  3. Sign up and fill out registrations for camps and activities, swiming lessons ect.
  4. Family Vacation
  5. Summer sports practices and games
  6. Put a summer calendar together
  7. Visits to relatives
  8. Summer tutoring or working with your child at home, materials and schedule.
  9. Camping/weekend trips.
  10. Play dates for kids and time for mom to get away by herself or with friends.
Can you see that you might save yourself a lot of stress by taking a day out to get a lot done organizing your family's summer plans!
