Put Everything in God's Hands

Empty Hands: Once Everything is Relinquished to God!

Leave it all in the Hands that were wounded for you." Elizabeth Elliot

Let's take a few moments to consider this quote of Elizabeth Elliot. It is obvious that Jesus is the one that was wounded for me. He forsaken all for me and for all who would trust in Him for salvation. He surrendered all. He surrendered his place with the Father in heaven to come to earth. He surrendered how will to his Father when he asked The Father to take "this cup from me but not my will but yours be done."

Jesus was God but he surrendered his place at the right hand of the Father to come to earth and ultimately suffer the worst death imaginable. He did this to secure my salvation. As He surrendered his will, that is the example for each person. I do 't have to carry every burden of life. I can entrust them to the one who made the ultimate sacrifice for me. He tells us in John 15:1-4

1“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunesa so that it will be even more fruitful. 3You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

Jesus desires us to abide in Him. As a person is connected to Christ, she bears spiritual fruit. This can only happen as we place our burdens, hopes and dreams into Christ's hands that already have proven His love through sacrifice. He, the Son of God, is able to deal and direct my path so much better than I ever could on my own. You see, He is God and I am not!!

I am so thankful that I am allowed to leave everything in the hands of the one who was wounded for me!
