I love this term "difference maker." I heard it in the sermon on Sunday and I am going to make it a part of my vocabulary. Today, I want to give mom's an old fashioned pep talk. Could I be your personal cheerleader today? I want you to know you make a difference in your child's life each and everyday. Yes, you do! Don't you dare negate this. I think I know your objections to this. I have said them many times, You may judge yourself way told quickly. It's not about instant results. If you are judging yourself because you aren't perfect or your child isn't, please don't go down that road. It's not reality. It's not a reasonable standard. Bottom line, it's just not the way to live.
Results will come most likely but it may take a lot of investment. No child leaves the nest for at least 18 years. That's how God designed life on earth. Each and everyday there is an opportunity for a mom to be a difference maker. There are boundaries to be set that will help this child to understand life in the best way. Wisdom is imparted as a mom shares life with her child who doesn't have a breadth of experiences. Love needs to be imparted in the victories and challenges of life. Encouragement and discipline are needed. It's not one these but all of them. It takes time. The deposits that are made day after day will add up. It makes a difference that you are this child's mom!
Don't become discouraged in the daily ups and downs of parenting. Each and everyday, YOU are a DIFFERENCE MAKER!
