Losses of Life are Hard.

The next section of the essay Trip to Holland that we will consider is "And the pain of that experience will never, ever, ever, go away. The loss of that dream is a very significant loss." Every human being faces losses in this life. That is just reality. Do those losses hurt? They absolutely do!! How is a person to deal with them? Here are some things that have helped me.

1. Recognize the loss and take time to mourn it. This is so important!

2. There will be a lessening of pain over time but waves of feelings will overtake you as there are reminders of this great loss. Don't allow these feelings to surprise you.

3. These highly emotional times will be farther apart and be less intense as time goes on.

4. When these times happen, they are a part of the grieving process. It is normal and the way God designed us.

5. Remember you are not alone. Others go through the exact same thing.

6. Look at the losses many people in the Bible went through. Read those stories to glean truth about losses in life from God through his Word. Some characters to look at are Job, Moses, Joseph, Mary the mother of Jesus, David and many more.

You may want pick a theme verse for this loss. An example of a verse that may be used by someone is

Deuteronomy 31:8New International Version (NIV)"The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." God will answer prayer and lead you to the perfect verse for you and your situation.

God bless you as you work through this grieving process.
