Here is another great summer play activity. An activity that my children loved was drawing with colored chalk. There is something about colored chalk. It can be done anywhere there is a sidewalk. As long as you and your children have permission from the owner. Designs and pictures can be made. Games can be created. I have drawn four square, hopscotch and shuffleboard on concrete for hours of fun! If it rains, the chalk can go inside for lots of fun and games on a chalkboard.
